House at corner of Morgan and Sumter Streets, Shelby, N.C., to
which J.W. and Nannie Cash moved in 1932 to ameliorate Depression
woes in nearby Boiling Springs. W.J. Cash moved here with his parents
and continued in residence through September, 1937. It was in this house
that Cash began in earnest writing the manuscript of The Mind of the South
